About ShrinkLab
ShrinkLab is a collection of image tools that run entirely inside your browser. Instead of uploading files to a server, it uses the same graphics engine your browser uses to display web pages to decode, transform and re-encode your images on your device.
That architecture is better in every way that matters: it is faster because nothing travels over the network, it is private because nothing leaves your device, and it keeps working when you are offline.
The app is installable as a Progressive Web App, supports 28 languages, and is free to use without an account.
How it works
- Images are decoded with the browser’s native codecs, with on-device WebAssembly decoders for HEIC and TIFF.
- Processing happens in Web Workers so the interface stays responsive, even with large photos.
- Encoders write JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and ICO. Size targets use a quality and dimension search that lands just under your limit.
