Compress PDF
Shrink a PDF on your device by rebuilding each page as an optimised image at the level you choose: Strong for the smallest file, Balanced for everyday documents, Light to keep fine print sharp. Grayscale saves even more on colour scans. Best for scanned documents and PDFs full of photos. Pages keep their size, but text becomes part of the page image and is no longer selectable; run Image to Text afterwards if you need the text.

Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are rendered and rebuilt in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
Will the text stay selectable?
No. Each page is stored as an image, which is what makes scans much smaller. If you need searchable text, use Image to Text on the pages, or keep the original for that purpose.
Which level should I choose?
Balanced suits most documents. Use Strong to fit tight email or portal limits, and Light when small print or fine diagrams must stay crisp.
