Resize by centimetres, not pixels

A size in centimetres only means something together with a resolution, so this tool converts the centimetres you type into pixels at the DPI you choose (300 by default) and writes that DPI into the file. The printer then prints the image at exactly that size when the print dialog is set to actual size. Common requests are 3.5 × 4.5 cm photos, 10 × 15 cm prints, 6 × 2 cm signatures and A4 or A5 pages, all available as presets.

Keep the aspect ratio locked to avoid distortion, or choose crop to fill when the form needs an exact shape. Turn on the size cap if the portal also limits kilobytes: the tool resizes and compresses in one pass.

Frequently asked questions

Can I resize in centimeters or inches?

Yes. Switch the unit to cm, mm or in, set the DPI (300 for print, 72–96 for screens) and the tool converts to exact pixels and writes the DPI into the file (JPG and PNG).

What is the difference between Fit, Fill and Stretch?

Fit keeps the whole image inside the box, Fill crops to cover the box exactly, Stretch ignores the aspect ratio, and Pad adds a background to reach the exact size without cropping.

Can I resize and compress at the same time?

Turn on "Also limit file size" and set a KB target. The image is resized first and then encoded to fit your limit in one pass.
