Making a PDF under 20 KB
Portals that accept PDF scans usually cap them at 20 KB, and a PDF built from phone photos is often ten times that. This preset places your images on pages and then compresses them as a set until the whole document fits under 20 KB, keeping text legible as long as possible by reducing quality before dimensions. Will the text in my scan stay readable under 20 KB?
For one to three pages, yes at typical limits. The compressor lowers image quality first and only shrinks pages when necessary; check the preview for small print before uploading.
Can I combine several photos into one PDF under 20 KB?
Yes. Add them in order, each becomes a page, and the size limit applies to the finished document, not to each page.
Why is my result slightly over 20 KB?
PDF structure adds a few kilobytes beyond the images. The tool targets the document size, so this is rare; if it happens, lower the limit a little and run again.
Does the PDF contain searchable text?
No. Pages are images, as with any scan. The document is exactly what you see, which is what upload portals expect.
How do I keep the PDF under a size limit?
