Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The matting model runs inside your browser with WebAssembly. Only the model file itself is downloaded (once, about 6 MB) and cached for next time.
What kind of photos work best?
Portraits: head-and-shoulders or full-body photos of one person against a reasonably distinct background. Fine hair and glass look best with a little edge softness.
How do I get a white background for an ID photo?
Switch Method to Colour, pick white (or the colour your form requires) and export as JPG. Combine with the Passport photo tool to crop to the official size.
