Frequently asked questions
How do I make a video under 10 MB?
Choose "Target size" and enter 10 MB. The bitrate is calculated from the length of the clip so the file lands just under the limit. Shorter clips or a lower resolution such as 720p keep more detail.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is decoded and re-encoded in your browser with WebCodecs. Nothing is sent to a server, which also means there is no upload wait.
Why did I get a WebM file instead of MP4?
MP4 needs the browser's H.264 encoder. Chrome, Edge and Safari have it; if yours does not, the video is saved as WebM (VP9), which plays in all modern browsers and on most phones.
