PEF to BMP
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, ICO — in and out.
- Add images by dropping, choosing or pasting them.
- Adjust the options — everything previews on your device.
- Run, compare before and after, then download or share.
Converting PEF to BMP
Drop a PEF file and it is decoded in your browser, then re-encoded as BMP with the quality and background you choose. Transparency is preserved when the target format supports it and flattened onto a colour when it does not. Camera orientation is applied so the result is never sideways, and EXIF data is dropped, which protects your location and shrinks the file. Batches of up to 50 files convert together and download as a ZIP, with no upload, no queue and no account.
Who needs this
People sharing iPhone or Android photos with systems that only accept BMP, web developers moving to modern formats, designers exchanging assets, and anyone who needs PEF files to open on another device.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting PEF to BMP reduce quality?
Converting into a lossless format keeps every pixel. Converting into a lossy one re-encodes at the quality you set; 92 percent is visually identical for photos and still far smaller than the original.
Why would I want BMP instead of PEF?
Compatibility and size. BMP opens where PEF may not, and modern formats can be much smaller for the same look. The compare slider shows both side by side.
Is transparency kept?
Yes when BMP supports it (PNG, WebP, AVIF, ICO). JPG and BMP do not, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick.
Can I convert many PEF files at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 files, run once, and download them as a ZIP. Each file is converted in a background worker so the page stays responsive.
Which formats are supported?
Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG, TIFF and HEIC/HEIF from iPhone. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and ICO.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop the .heic files, keep JPG selected and press Convert. HEIC is decoded on your device with a WebAssembly decoder; nothing is uploaded.
What happens to transparency?
PNG, WebP and AVIF keep it. JPG and BMP have no alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
